In this Eat • Pray • Art session, we explored emotional release through scratch art — a simple yet powerful way to process feelings and reconnect with joy.

We began by filling our paper with bright, happy colors using oil pastels — colors that represent our feelings, our memories, and our inner world. Then we covered it with black acrylic paint, and gently scratched into the surface using a toothpick/skewer… revealing what was hidden underneath.

This process became a beautiful reminder: Even when life feels heavy or covered, there is still color within us.

This session focused on: • Releasing stuck emotions through art • Expressing feelings without words • Finding joy through color and texture • Creating in a safe, reflective space

Scripture Reflection: Psalm 62:8

Materials Used: • Oil pastels • Black acrylic paint • Toothpick / skewer (for scratching) • Thick paper (preferably 300gsm)

About Eat • Pray • Art: Eat • Pray • Art is a monthly creative gathering where we reflect on Scripture and express it through art. No experience needed — just come as you are.

Let’s Connect: If this spoke to you, share your artwork or your feelings in the comments 💛 I’d love to hear what you released through this process.
