Art for me has always been a way to express faith, reflection and emotion. In my latest Eat Pray Art video, I explore the theme of the cross through watercolor, and masking tape. Inspired by one of the most well-known and cherished verses in the Bible—John 3:16. This verse speaks of God’s immense love and the gift of salvation, a message that resonates deeply with my creative journey.
The Meaning Behind the Artwork
In my art, I write “For God so Loved.” Based on John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse has had a significant impact on me because once I understood God’s love for the world and me, the sacrifice of Christ has a more personal and deeper meaning for me.
The Creative Process
In this video, After taping the shape of the cross with Masking tape, or painters tape — I use soft, flowing watercolors in an abstract flow of colors to depict the depth of what I see as Christ’s love and the beauty of redemption.
Watercolor in abstract form as a medium beautifully mirrors faith—it requires patience, trust, and letting go of control. The way the colors blend and flow reflects the way God’s grace washes over us, shaping our lives in ways we cannot always predict.
In the video, I guide you through the painting process step by step, from selecting the right paper to adding details that bring depth and meaning to the artwork.

The process begins with preparing the paper and using masking tape to define the painting area. As we layer soft washes of color, we embrace the unpredictability of watercolor—just like faith, it requires surrender and trust.
Art as Worship
For me, painting is a form of meditation. It is a space where I can focus on the verse let go of distractions, and focus on the flow of the paint as I understand the meaning of that moment. The process of creating this painting allowed me to reflect.
I encourage you to join me in this creative worship. You don’t need to be an experienced artist; just bring an open heart and allow the process to speak to you.
